• Urge the city to put bike racks everywhere.
• Have your say at school, at the parent-teachers organisation or in your local community center/village hall.
• Write to your local newspaper.
• Call or write about global warming issues to your local member of parliament (MP), or council member responsible for environment.
• Support and canvas for clean renewable energy.
• Be active in your local village groups.
• Get your local council go install light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on their streets.
• Get supermarkets to sell plastic carrier bags to encourage use of reusable bags.
• Get stores, cinemas, bowling alleys etc to reduce heat in winter and air-conditioning in summer.

• The Mayor’s Green Procurement Code is a response to the growing crisis facing London in terms of reducing the amount of waste we send to landfill. We need to create new products made from recycled material and encouraging businesses and public sector to buy back these products as a routine part of their purchasing strategies.
